What Is HDPE?
HDPE, or high-density polyethylene, is a polyethylene structure that generally produces a stiffer material than LDPE and LLDPE. In film, this can provide a crisper, more rigid feel for applications that do not require a very soft or highly extensible film.
In blown film, final performance is not determined by polymer name alone. Resin grade, formulation, film thickness, processing conditions, additives, bag design, sealing, and actual handling all affect performance. Specifications should therefore be selected around the application rather than material price alone.

Where Is HDPE Commonly Suitable?
Industrial Liners
For cartons, bins, and containment uses where a lightweight, relatively stiff film is suitable.
General Bags
For products that do not require high elongation from the packaging film.

Material Selection Considerations
Consider HDPE when the application benefits from a stiffer and lighter film.
If the product has sharp edges, requires high stretch, or experiences demanding handling, the formulation and thickness should be evaluated carefully. LLDPE or selected blends may be more suitable depending on actual conditions.
